If you can't get enough...

‘Get a Newf’ was recorded in Comfort Cove studios in Newfoundland by my friend Ward Pike. I wanted it to have the East Coast vibe which I believe, Ward captured. I wrote this song as a tribute to all my Newfoundland friends and also as a tribute to my Dad, who was a traditional fiddle player from Holyrood, NL. I mention Ron Hynes and Masterless Men because I’ve always been drawn to their music. Thank you Ron Hynes for your uniquely toned voice. ‘If you’re looking to find a lost fiddle tune’ I wrote to honour Dad.

My brother Danny (who is currently in Holyrood NL) is getting dialysis treatment in St Johns which is due to a genetic kidney disease. All the proceeds of this song ‘get a Newf’ will be sent to my Brother and my Mom, to help them through this challenging time. Any support, whether that be a download or share, will be much appreciated.

Special thanks to Justin Power and Mellisa  Braye for contributing the pictures which formed the Artwork for the song. Thanks to all who shared their beautiful pictures of Newfoundland with me. They were much appreciated, seeing how I can’t go back and visit this year. Wally Hall for helping me figure out how to write the ending of the song and for being a great friend. My wife for getting the song ready for distribution. My mom for being the ‘Rock’ on the Rock, helping Dan through it all. Thanks to my brother Aaron for driving Dan out to St Johns and back 3x a week for his dialysis. Thanks to you Dan, for always being so strong and resilient.
